Average Joe (Series)

When we look closely at the lives of our biblical heroes, it's clear that God had one quality at the top of His list for selecting those He wanted to use for His purposes... mediocrity. Sounds odd, but it's true!  Our great champions of faith didn't start out that way.  Some were unpopular, unaccomplished, unsuccessful or unremarkable in any way.  Others could only boast of  being a liar, a cheater, a murderer or an adulterer. Such is the story of Joseph in Genesis, an average guy, younger than most of this brothers, destined for a life herding sheep--that is, until God revealed His bigger plans.

What Joseph and others experienced was a time in their lives that the Bible expresses as a "but, God..." moment. That's what happens when "average" meets the God of the universe. Faith explodes and God's  plans are carried out successfully by the most unexpected heroes. In this series, Dr. Merritt share the process that changes a a life of mediocrity to one of effectiveness in the Kingdom of God. It's not how you start that matter, it's how you finish that counts!
